ARCAD Software recognized in the 2017 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Application Release Automation

Chavanod, France — Oct 24, 2017 – ARCAD Software today announced that it has been recognized in Gartner’s 2017 “Magic Quadrant for Application Release Automation” report for its DROPS solution.1

Vendors are selected for the Magic Quadrant based on two main criteria, their “ability to execute” and their “completeness of vision.” The “ability to execute” evaluation criteria is based on factors such as product or service, overall viability, sales execution/pricing, market responsiveness/record, marketing execution, customer experience, and operations are taken into account. The “completeness of vision” evaluation is based on factors such as market understanding, marketing strategy, sales strategy, offering (product) strategy, business model, vertical/industry strategy, innovation, and geographic strategy. Direct feedback from customers is obtained as part of the assessment.

Thirteen vendors have been included in this year’s Magic Quadrant.

The report positions ARCAD Software as a niche player and recognizes its completeness of vision and ability to execute.

Philippe Magne, ARCAD CEO, commented today: “ARCAD is currently experiencing what is surely the greatest transformation in its history. We believe the most significant symbol of this change is our official entry into Gartner’s Magic Quadrant in the ‘Application Release Automation’ category. We see this as a recognition of our potential, and we are proud to be seen as a major player in Release Management, which is, and will always be, at the very heart of our business”.

Evolving from ARCAD’s early foray into multi-platform release management back in 2005, DROPS now targets a much wider view of application release automation, which ARCAD have defined as “business release coordination”. This encompasses an automated end-to-end continuous delivery workflow from business strategy through to end-user. Known as deployment plans, dependencies between releases are handled transparently and users are shielded from the complexity of multitechnology deployment and rollback. DROPS also secures the deployment of critical data such as parameters or configuration data, as a vital safeguard of application reliability in production.

The 2017 Magic Quadrant for Application Release Automation report predicts that by 2020, 50% of global enterprises will have implemented at least one application release automation solution, up from less than 15% today.

Magne concludes: “We are ready and aware of the potential of the DevOps market and have already seen our revenues grow by 30% this last year. We have been building up staff and skills in Europe, USA and Asia in particular. We are nonetheless a relatively small sized player who has always put the needs of our customer base first. It is by bringing our customers directly into the design process that we have developed this agility and a capacity to innovate. We are confident in our strategy after 25 years in the business of software innovation.”
